Funded Projects

FHO has awarded over $23 million to organizations working to advance policy, change the narrative, and elevate housing solutions that moves our nation toward housing justice. We seek to build the capacity of advocates, organizers and practitioners, particularly Black, Indigenous and People of Color, to advance equitable and anti-racist housing solutions. Grants are issued through invitation or a formal RFP processes.

 

Past and current grantees include:

National Homelessness Law Center

To mobilize partners across the country to utilize effective messaging and communications in response to the Johnson v. Grants Pass Supreme Court case and advance the long-term narrative that housing is the solution to homelessness. Johnson v. Grants Pass will determine whether cities are able arrest, fine, or ticket people experiencing unsheltered homelessness even if there is no safe alternate housing or shelter available.

Florida Eviction Prevention Collaborative

To transform conditions for renters in Miami-Dade County and Florida by confronting the root causes of the eviction crisis. To combat unfair evictions in predominately Black and Brown neighborhoods in Kansas City, MO. Chelsea Anti-Displacement Roundtable

To prevent evictions by responding to housing stabilization issues facing Chelsea, MA, a city with a large immigrant population, such as low housing stock and increased evictions.
